Lambda-SPX Versions

Lambda-SPX S Version 4.9  Oct 2019
- Lambda 850+ and Lambda 1050+ are supported. The instruments are checked through the software serial number.
- With Options/Preferences/Data Export paths can be set for results export.
- With Options/Preferences parameters of the ini-configuration file can be read and edited in Advanced Preferences.
- The reflection correction spectrum "Spectralon.R100.csv" has been modified with a smoothing in the range of 2000-2200 nm.
- Additional script commands for cancelling of measurements. For autosampler operation rack definitions for CETAC ASX 560 have been added.
- Script "Polarizer Scan.MS.rpx" executes a measurement in relation to the polarizer angle at a fixed wavelength.
- Bug fix: Problem with TAMS operation without polarizer cassette removed.

Lambda-SPX S Version 4.8  Sept 2018
- The Wavprog application in the Mode / Wavelength/user defined allows entering deliberate formulae to be calculated from the individual wavelengths readings.
- The output of the Wavprog application is reorganized: Any output is done horizontally sample by sample.
- Loading of UVWinLab ASCII spectra files (*.asc) improved: With the current file format (PEDS 4.0) all compatible spectrum parameters are transferred as far as available.
- UVWinLab ASCII spectra files (.asc) can be loaded as a method: With the File/Load Method dialog enter "*.asc" and press ENTER. This lists the available UVWinLab ASCII spectra files. The method import also considers program parameters as far as compatible. Thus it is possible to import existing methods of UVWinLab to Lambda-SPX. However the user must check the correct transfer of method parameters in the Advanced Parameters and the Program window and accept the settings.
- In the PV Tests application, the maximum number of Noise tests is increased to 6.
- Conc application: If errors occur with the calibration parameters (e.g. sample is above the maximum of the quadratic calibration curve) the measurement series is not canceled, but an error message "Error in calibration parameters; The calibration is not valid" is output in place of the result.
- WavProg: With csv export figures are listed with 7 significant decimals in contrast to former behavior and screen presentation.
- Scan: Y axis scaling can be set to Logarithmic (no data transformation) as a graph method parameter and with the Format Graph function.
- TAMS: New method parameter "%T / %R Automatic" defines that selection of the ordinate mode %R/%T is done automatically according the accessory angles.
- TAMS: Operation of Accessories of newer versions with modified baud rate und hand shake is made possible.
- Lambda 950 series: Timeout for setting the Common Beam mask increased to 45 s, because with small signal the NIR slit servo delays the common beam mask.
- External sipper (via USB switch) is added to the accessory information of the spectrum header.
- Printing width with landscape format slightly increased: 1064 -> 1090 , in order to consider US letter paper format.
- Bug fix IPV / Noise: Crash with error message "Text property is readonly", if the user clicked on an empty cell of the "Used" column.
- Bug fix Wavprog / "WL with factor": With a definition of "User Parameters" results were not transferred to the "ResultTable" variables of user-specific reports.

- Lambda 950 series: Supports control of the new standard PbS/PMT detectors (2D) with I2C bus control. PbS gain values can be entered with one decimal.
- A single spike/outlier (1 data point) within the baseline correction run is ignored and is interpolated. With more than 1 consecutive outlier, the baseline run is canceled. Within the sample measurement run however, the spike/outlier is shown.
Possible error messages within a scan, which do not generate cancellation, are noted in the spectrum data file and they are presented in the spectrum information, eg "Overflow Ref. 558 nm ".
- New subtask MO_SAMPINFOSHOW. The subtask is called, when the optional sample list has been read and has been presented.
- Lambda 950 series with TAMS accessory: The script "Ordinate vs Angle Graph.FX.rpx" in the "Wavprog" application generates a respective polar coordinate diagram.
- Bug fix: The file extension of an optional external spectrum converter is displayed, if a nondefault setting of the "SpectrumReadTypes" parameter has been entered in the configuration file.
- Bug fix: When deleting a User Parameter entry (additional sample parameter) and also removing the "obligatory" option, parameter 1 is no more set to the "obligatory".

- For Lambda 950 series a dedicated software version with control of TAMS (Total Absolute Measurement System) is available.
- Install set reorganized. Reporter-SPX templates can also be added to the Options menu: This is defined by using a template filename *.OP.rpx.
- Warning for default (not instrument specific) attenuator file only shown once after software start.
- Subtask MO_SAMPINFOEND is not started, if Sample Information window is canceled (no measurement done). Instead, the MO_RUNEND subtask can be applied that is started anyway.
- Lambda 950 series: Polarizer angles are displayed in Status Bar (not with programmed polarizer values)
- Lambda 950 series: Name of baseline file is displayed during baseline measurement. This is to allow checking the progress of baseline measurements.
- Lambda 950 series: Spectrum info additionally shows InGaAs detector change wavelength (Lambda 1050).
- Lambda 950 series: Control of common beam mask refined further.
- Lambda 950 series: Data of lamp up time can be included in report template scripting.
- Lambda 950 series: Sample Information window and Options menu made accessible to report template scripting.
- Lambda 950 series: With 0%T Calibration each detector is handled separately for 3-detector system.
- Lambda 950 series: 0%T Correction measurements in Wavprog mode: Measurements are done with all required polarizer and attenuator levels before wavelength change. This is to save time especially, if grating change is required.
- Lambda 950 series: Script "Autozero Info" is available to list autozero data in Wavprog mode.
- Bug fix: Sample list allows deleting or adding lines attached to lines without sample name.
- Bug fix Lambda 950: With an RS-232 instrument, the instrument internally saves the automatically measured O%T calibration data correctly.
- Bug fix Lambda 950: Error message "252 CBM timeout" is suppressed after spectrometer initialization with USB controlled instruments.
- Bug fix Lambda 950: If with the program mode not active, the parameter program windows opened, left unmodified and exited via the OK button, the program mode is not marked active.

- The Status bar shows yet uncorrected ordinate values in red. Corrected values are then shown in blue anymore.
- Additional configuration parameter MessagesSystemModal=1 causes error messages to be displayed as top window.
- ordplus configuration parameter can have values from -9 to +9.
- Lambda 950 series: Additional configuration parameter SuppressErn’Msg=xxx allows suppressing specific spectrometer error messages. For example xxx=242 to suppress the error message 242 UV Lampfault, if D2 UV lamp is out of order.
- Bug Fix: Sample list can be saved with obligatory User Parameters defined.
- Lambda 950 series: Timeout for detector change with fixed wavelength measurement increased as occasionally required for triple detector system.
- Bug fix Lambda 950 series: Check of scan baseline data improved for smoothed and derivative measurements.
- Bug Fix Lambda 950 series: If - after baseline correction - the instrument was driven to "0" nm, the first data point of the initial scan was uncorrected. This error has been fixed.

Lambda-SPX S 4.4     July 2015
- Control of USB connected Lambda 950 series instruments and additional configuration parameter PortType.
- Lambda 950 series: Cell changer attached to spectrometer is controlled.
- PV Tests measurements request an operator name.
- csv format spectra files in the Unicode format can be imported.

- Additional switches for software startup are introduced for an external call of the software.
- Additional Data Handling and Measure script templates: Abscissa shift, Set Line, Ordinate Average, DoublePol Alignment.
- As recommended by the instrument manufacturer, the common beam mask of Lambda 950 series instruments is driven to full opening before driven to another setting.
- If a scan is terminated, because the reflectance correction or attenuator data do not cover the required wavelength range, the correctly recorded data are available for manual data storage.
- If a Timedrive measurement is terminated before the defined end time, this event is saved with the audit trail information.
- If in Conc calibration not all standards have been measured, it is possible to cancel the measurement of standards and to delete or deactivate the standards not measured. Then the Recalculate button is available to setup the calibration with the measured standards.
- The IPV Wavelength accuracy test allows selecting the ordinate modes %T or A.
- Additional sipper and temperature control configuration options.
- Script templates Attenuation xx%.sc.rpx modified so that RearAttenuattorxx spectra are addressed.
- The routine SPC_CONV_W_UVDM_SP.exe (export as UVDM format spectrum) removed because of repeated wrong virus warning for this file. The routine is available on request.
- With csv-import, ordinate designations T (if data > 1.25) and T% are changed to %T; designations R%, Reflectance, %RC, %RA are changed to %R. If the characters abs (e.g. in Absorbance) are detected, the designation is changed to A.

- Conc application: With replica measurements (repeated measurements), for each replicate a new sample is queried in manual mode and a new sample is aspirated in sipper mode .
- Scan/Timedrive/Wavprog (sipper mode) observe the option Pump each cycle with each measurement cycle.
- The execution of Peak pick in the Spectrum information window does not use the displayed method settings, but queries the user for the required parameters Maxima and/or Minima and Threshold with dedicated windows.
- An additional configuration parameter allows blocking the option to enter and select the Operator name. Instead, the Windows login name is used in the configured presentation.
- When the entered Operator name is deleted, the system automatically re-enters the Windows login name.
- All calculation script templates are revised so that the actual user name is entered.
- New script template functions are available for the data handling menu: Set Operate name and Double Gridlines.
- Additional sample information entries can also be applied for CalculateFormula expressions with Reporter-SPX templates.

- The File menu has additional functions to load recently used spectra / data sets and results.
- The Advanced Options window has additional functions to extend the Sample information window with up to 6 additional method-specific and user-defined categories for sample information.
- The entered information is stored with the data / result and reports. It is shown in the report and in the Spectrum / Data information window. Positions of this information can be configured.
- Dedicated variables allow placing the information to a report template with Reporter-SPX.
- A horizontal cursor is available.
- An additional configuration setting allows opening the File menu and the graph functions during a scan. Thus it is possible to load an additional spectrum during a scan.
- Printout can be alternatively defined in Landscape format.
- Font size of standard report sections (header, peak table, enzyme results, etc.) can be defined. Thus a line break can be avoided at times.
- The software maintains a list of up to 25 recent operators. With the Operator entry box, a drop-down list allows selecting one of them.
- The report PDF export can be configured so that it opens a File save .. window for selecting a path and entering a filename.
- During baseline correction, the live display shows the actual baseline values with TB as an ordinate mode.
- A Show Baseline function is available to load the active baseline data to the graph.
- The MethodLink function is extended to allow the definition of multiple samples.
- Default attenuator spectra are installed (Lambda 950 series) to the Data directory. The user is warned, if instrument specific files are not yet established instead.
- The IPV application includes the wavelength accuracy check with the D2 lamp line at 656,1 nm and its double value (2nd grating order) as Internal standard (Lambda 950 series).
- Baseline spectrum additionally shows instrument type/accessory/instrument serial number (Lambda 950 series).
- The IPV application uses a different dialog window so that the live display continues with Insert sample messages.
- The File / Load method function is able to load report templates for execution.
- Additional functions for spectrum abscissa conversion (nm -> cm-1, eV) and ordinate conversion (A -> dB, mA, o.D.) are available in the Data Handling menu.

- User interface style adapts to Windows version style; window background color can be modified in ascapp.cfg configuration file - if undefined, the Windows default is applied.
- The Conc application additionally allows referencing to weight of solid samples

- A USB relay unit can be controlled; typically to operate an external sipper pump.
